Police caught the youth drug gang who traded online – VIDEOS

It is not uncommon that young people with nice family background hide behind the facelessness offered by the Internet and gain social media acquaintances that take them in the wrong direction. This was the situation in the case of those 18 young adults who got into drug business within a chat room community, and finally were caught by the Police on 20th November.

The drug was procured online, they did not meet the foreign sellers in person, and the drug they ordered was delivered through a courier service. Then it was continuously given and received by consulting through the chat room. They had the illusion that all this could remain hidden from the authorities. But they were wrong. The Police caught the drug dealer band at dawn on 20th November 2020.

The Drug Crime Division of the International Crime Department of the National Investigation Bureau of the Standby Police launched an investigation in the summer of 2020.

With the involvement of several departments and Győr-Moson-Sopron County Police Headquarters, the police raided the youth drug band on 20th November 2020 at a total of 15 locations, where

Gang members negotiated the sale of the drugs online. The youngest member of the team became an adult just a few months ago. The majority of the detained suspects do not have a verifiable employment relationship; presumably, they have made their living from drug trafficking.

Based on the information that one of the suspects may have a weapon, he was raided with the help of the Operations Unit of the Counter-Terrorism Center.

Investigators found objects used for packaging and measuring drugs in Budapest, Táborfalva, Ugod and Győr, but also confiscated computer equipment, an air gun and a firearm, and more than EUR 27,700 (~HUF 10,000,000) in cash.

Concerning the case, the authorities are prosecuting a total of 18 people for drug trafficking offences. Nine men and two women, including the founder of the gang and his partner, were detained.
